For those who don’t know, the Chromecast is a fantastic little HDMI dongle released by Google in 2013, allowing users to control content on their TV from their phone, tablet or PC. It supports a wide and every growing array of apps, but all the staples such as youtube, Netflix and even the chrome browser can be displayed on the TV with only a few button presses!
The Chromecast was cheap on release – and still is, at only $35, but there is an even cheaper way!
The cheaper option:
Get a ‘Miracast’ dongle for only $12.99! It delivers practically all the same functionality as a Chromecast (potentially more!) and comes in at a third of the price!
